MIDDLEBURG – A Middleburg woman was arrested on Feb. 9 for hit and run after a man riding his bicycle was struck by a car on Old Jennings Road.

Amie Nicole Hiter, 42, was charged with failure to immediately report a crash, driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident with an injury without rendering aid after a man was knocked off his bike and thrown into a ditch shortly after 7 a.m.

Deputies found the right side mirror and shards of glass at the scene. Four witnesses described the truck as a green F-150. A patrol unit stopped a truck on Blanding Boulevard without a passenger mirror that also matched the truck’s description. Hiter was then arrested.

The victim was “alert” and “conscious,” but he was admitted to HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital for treatment.

Hiter’s bond was set at $82,507.
