Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies and a patrolman from the Florida Highway Patrol chased the driver, Andre Christopher Munoz, of Jacksonville, until he was tackled on a dock by FHP. The entire incident was recorded by a customer across the creek at Whitey’s Fish Camp. The video was then posted on the sheriff’s office’s social media pages.
The passenger was caught after he jumped from the car.
Munoz was charged with stealing the car in Jacksonville, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, attempting to flee and elude law enforcement with emergency lights and sirens active, reckless driving, driving without a valid license, resisting arrest and trespassing.
Munoz’s bond was set at $121,017.
The passenger, Michael Collin White, 18, of Jacksonville, was charged with grand theft auto, trespassing and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $35,007.
FHP attempted a precision immobilization technique (PIT) on the speeding car on Henley Road, but it wasn’t successful.
