FLEMING ISLAND – Trinity Community Church is moving into a larger worship space to give you more room to hear God speak. Starting Sunday, Aug. 20, at 9:30 a.m., they’ll be worshipping in the sanctuary of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church at 6865 Pine Ave. Volunteers have done a lot of cleaning, painting, moving and arranging furniture for the soft opening. Trinity Community Church is a little more than a year old. The church’s mission is to “spread God’s biblical word through active participation in the community. The church has volunteered with several local charitable organizations. It gives 9% of its income to the Quigley House, the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry, 4 Clay County schools and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. If there’s something they can do to help in Clay County, please call them at (904) 884-6351. The church thanked the Episcopal Diocese of Florida, First Baptist of Jacksonville, and the prayers, encouragement and financial support of many who have helped them launch. St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church was opened in 1878 and remained open until 2012. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
