• The Florida Federation of Fairs and Livestock Shows inducted Pete Sutton of Keystone Heights into its Hall of Fame after he served as general manager of the Clay County Agricultural Fair from 2006 to 2015.
• The Clay County Board of Commissioners voted to outsource homeless stabilization to Mercy Support Services in a $100,000 agreement.
• The Clay County Cruzers collect $1,000 at its Classic Car Show at Moosehaven for the Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs.

10 years ago, 2012
• The Board of County Commission shuts down any notion of installing redlight cameras at selected busy intersections.
• Virginia Hash (education), Wilye Mae Batey (faith-based), Tony Harbin (health), Jerry Kemp (social services) and Jay Oliverio (lifetime achievement) are honored at the Annual Golden Years Gala.
• More than 300 attend the first movie night to watch “Rio” at Real Fun Night offered at Orange Park Town Hall.

• Operation X-men, a multi-agency narcotics task force leads to the arrest and warrants for several people, including six Clay County men, including two from Fleming Island, three from Orange Park and one whose identity wasn’t revealed.
• The Orange Park Rotary Club welcomes keynote speaker Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Tom Coughlin.
• Green Cove Springs prepares for the 14th annual RiverFest weekend at Spring Park.
30 years ago, 1992
• The Orange Park Town Council remained deadlocked at 2-2 between Sarah Bedsloe and Ken Study on who should fill the fifth seat.
• The Board of County Commissioners agree the Public Service Commission should review the plan to transfer service between Clay Electric Co-Operative and Jacksonville Electric Authority in the Fleming Island area.
• More than 60 residents who live along the Black Creek ask the BCC not to invoke any new restrictions on boaters since it would limit recreation and create a safety hazard.

40 years ago, 1982
• The Board of County Commissioners approve a conceptual plan by Ravines Resort than would help turn the defunct Ravines golf course into a resort.
• The BCC denies a Special Use request that would allow residents to raise fowl on Richard Road and Governors Creek.
• Three new paramedics are hired for Rescue 74 to keep pace with the growing population in the Middleburg area.
