Telescope Health now available to Baptist Health team members

FLEMING ISLAND – Telescope Health and Baptist Health announced today that on-demand, virtual physician visits 24 hours a day, seven days a week are now more accessible to Baptist Health’s 13,000-plus team members, including those working at the Baptist Clay Medical Campus and Baptist and Wolfson Oakleaf Emergency, and their benefits-eligible dependents.

Telescope Health provides board-certified emergency and family physicians for this service and coordination of follow-up care. The service is a part of Baptist Health’s existing telemedicine platform, Baptist HealthPlace On Demand.

Through this collaborative program, Telescope Health provides a way for Baptist Health to support the health and well-being of the people within its organization, which is one of the largest private employers in Northeast Florida. The program outcomes align with Telescope Health’s goal to improve accessibility and affordability of health care.

“Our team members are committed to caring for our patients and our community. As a 24/7 operation, we wanted to ensure they have access to convenient, high-quality health care around the clock,” said Kate McCann, MHRD, senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Baptist Health. “We feel telehealth services are an essential benefit to offer our team.”

“When in the role of providing care to others, it’s easy to forget your own personal health needs,” said Telescope Health co-founder Dr. Matthew Thompson. “For those in health care, it often comes to seeking advice in the hallway, asking for referrals via text messages or even heading to the ER for common medical problems. On-demand access to physicians is greatly needed by those working in health care and this new service provided through Baptist HealthPlace On Demand allows team members and their families to have that on-demand access. That’s a truly amazing health benefit.”

Telescope Health provides comprehensive health care solutions to individuals, businesses, and organizations of all sizes and across various industries. For employers, having healthier employees can mean fewer sick days, less time waiting at the doctor’s office, and increased productivity across the organization.
