SJRSC holds pinning ceremony for nurses

ORANGE PARK – St. Johns River State College recently held a pinning ceremony to recognize the Associate in Science in Nursing graduates from the Orange Park and Palatka campus programs. A continued tradition of Florence Nightingale, the pinning ceremony symbolizes the rite of passage into nursing and the care and devotion nurses provide. Graduates received a pin that serves as a reminder of their purpose to serve the sick and infirmed.

During the ceremony, ASN graduates Catherine Conroy and Ralph Sacco were awarded the Florence Nightingale Award for demonstrating outstanding compassion toward others, leadership in class and devotion to clients and their families.

The Academic Excellence Award was awarded to Andrew Bowlby and Ariel Caban.

ASN graduates include Claudia Alfaro, Linda Alonzo, Clay Armstrong, Andrew Bowlby, Lisa Brasiel, Ariel Caban, Trina Cantwell-Quallio, Nicole Grace Colvin, Catherine-Paige Conroy, Ashley Czechowski, Taylor Drouin, Elizabeth Frazier, Jennifer Genton, Caitlyn Greene, Julianna Guerra, Shaliyah Holliman, Hayla Huffman, Erin Hunter, Hanna Jensen, Brittany Johnson, Erin Kellogg, Jazmine Leaks, Diandra Mata, Candace Metts, Shanley Miller, Jessica Miracle, Elmira Mukhtazova, Kalei Myer, Brittanny Namwises, Sheyna Oliver, Alondra Oliveras, Akira Perez, Vanessa Regan, Leah Roberts, Raquel Rodriguez, Shekinah Rudolph, Emily Russom, Ralph Sacco, Wesley Trocchio, Lauren Welle and Jada Williams.

The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission accredits SJR State’s nursing program.
