Six arrested during early morning drug raid on Nolan Road

MIDDLEBURG – Five people were arrested on a variety of drug-related charges, and another went to jail for resisting arrest on March 29 during an early morning raid by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team at 1556 Nolan Road.

Caught in the sweep were:

Misty Lee Downs, 50, of Middleburg. Deputies with CCSO had an arrest warrant for her for two counts of the sale and delivery of fentanyl and one found of the sale and delivery of methamphetamine. They executed the raid shortly after 7 a.m.

During a search of her house, deputies found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. She was also charged with selling opium and methamphetamine.

Her bond was $150,006.

Jason Matthew Simon, 41, of Middleburg. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. According to the arrest report, he had a cut straw, a rolled-up dollar bill, a plastic baggie with marijuana and a “rock like” substance that tested to be methamphetamine in his pocket when he was searched.

His bond was set at $30,007.

James Alan Simon, 49, of Middleburg. He was charged with possession of marijuana, Oxycodone Hydrochloride, drug paraphernalia and a firearm by a convicted felon after deputies uncovered the drugs, a scale and a derringer in a bin of a bedroom.

James Simon’s bond was set at $120,011.

Jaimee Nicole Vanryswyk, 31, of Jacksonville. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia when deputies found burned foil inside her pocketbook during the raid. They conducted a field test on the foil, and it rendered positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Her bond was set at $27,005.

David Woodrow Downs, 57, of Middleburg, was charged with resisting arrest. His bond was set at $10,002.

Anna Jett Grimes, 58, of Middleburg, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $5,003.
