FLEMING ISLAND – Twelve children not only got the thrill of arriving at the Walmart Supercenter on Fleming Island with a police escort, then left with a lot of their wish lists filled. The Green Cove Springs Police Department invited 12 children to cookies and hot chocolate to their headquarters, and from there they road a bus provided by Springs Church with police cruisers using the red and blue flashing lights. Each child was given $140 to spend, and each had an officer escorting them through the store, police chief John Guzman said.
