Sen. Rick Scott stops by the County Fair on opening day

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – If you were at the Clay County Agricultural Fair on opening day, you might have seen a man in sunglasses and cap being escorted by a police officer from the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

Actually, that was Sen. Rick Scott, a former Florida governor, and Sheriff Michelle Cook saying, “hi” and thanking everyone for coming out.

Scott said his favorite fair snack is deep-fried doughnuts. He also said he enjoys riding the Ferris wheel with his grandchildren.

Cook was excited to walk around the fair and meet everyone. But she said she was going to pass on the rides this year.

Scott echoed that statement.
