Woman arrested for not paying for cab ride to vacant, vandalized home

ORANGE PARK – A woman was arrested after she failed to pay for a $56.60 taxi ride to a home that was empty and vandalized.

Jennifer T. Hamilton, 33, of Jacksonville, took a cab from UF Health in Jacksonville to a home on Golden Pond Boulevard last Friday, June 7. When she got out of the taxi, she came out of a house and said she couldn’t find her wallet. Once deputies arrived, they noticed the home was vacant and vandalized. They found a broken pipe spewing water and a shattered rear door. They learned from a renting agent the house was supposed to be empty.

Hamilton was placed in the Clay County Jail after being charged with transit fare evasion and vandalism with damage of more than $1,000.

Man faces probation violations after he’s charged with same crimes in Marion County

MARION COUNTY – A Middleburg man already on probation for selling, delivering and manufacturing cannabis in Clay County was arrested and charged with the same offenses recently in Marion County.

Ryan Kent Berridge, 24, was transported back to Clay and charged with two counts of violating his three-year probation.

Profane-laced argument lands Tallahassee woman in Clay County Jail

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – A woman who was screaming and cursing at convenience store customers was arrested causing a public disturbance and refusing to get out of her car during her arrest.

Katherine Lydone Giddens, 28, of Tallahassee, was charged with breach of the peace, disorderly conduct, fighting or brawling and resisting or obstructing or opposing a police officer.

Deputies were asked to meet a victim and Giddens at a store on County Road 218 following a family disturbance that happened on Hereford Road. Once they arrived, Giddens continually yelled and used profanity while the victim tried to talk. After Giddens was ordered to sit in her van so they could talk to the victim, she screamed and cursed at customers from the store.

Giddens originally refused to leave the van while she was interfering with the investigation, but she eventually was arrested.

Man goes to jail for spray-painting Jesus statue at dentist office

ORANGE PARK – A homeless man was arrested after he climbed onto a statue of Jesus at a local dental office and spray-painted the face.

Kenneth Irwin Ingram III was charged with criminal mischief for vandalizing a church, synagogue, mosque or religious article.

According to the arrest report, an employee at Dental Plus on Blanding Boulevard call Clay County Sheriff’s Office after she saw a man climb onto a six-foot-tall statue at the front of their property. When deputies arrived, the front of the statue had been painted. Ingram was arrested after CCSO found him in a grassy lot on the same block.

Green Cove Springs man arrested for pointing gun at roommate, friends

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – A man was sent to jail after he pointed a gun at his roommate and shoved a woman to the ground, Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.

Ritchie Patrick Miolen, 47, was charged with aggravated with intent to commit a felony and simple battery after his roommate stopped at their house to pick up personal items. The roommate had planned to spend the night with two other friends.

According to the arrest report, Miolen then pushed one of the friends down and pointed a gun at all three. When deputies arrived, they found Moilen behind the home with a gun in his hand.
