CLAY COUNTY—FCC Environmental will start delivering garbage cans on Monday, starting with Keystone Heights and the unincorporated areas around the Lake Region.
The new waste company will start collecting garbage on Oct. 1, but it will systematically deliver 3,000 cans daily until Sept. 23.
Residents are reminded to continue to use their own garbage cans or cans provided by Waste Management through Sept. 31 and not to use the FCC Environment cans until Oct. 1. Also, don’t use Waste Management cans after Sept. 31. However, Waste Management cans be used for yard debris.
Cans will be delivered zone-by-zone, moving north from Keystone Heights, FCC Environmental said.
The switch-over applies to all county residents except those who live inside the city limits of Green Cove Springs and the town of Orange Park. These residents have their own trash pick-up services.
