MIDDLEBURG – A 39-year-old man was arrested for attaching a tracking device to his estranged wife’s car without her knowledge or permission.

Dwayne Dustin Padgett, 39, of Middleburg, was pulled over on Dec. 14 after a Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy was alerted the owner of a truck traveling on Old Jennings Road had an outstanding warrant for installing a tracking device without permission. According to court records, the device was detected on May 12. Padgett’s wife filed for divorce on Aug. 24.

Padgett was released on his recognizance.
