Derrick Dennard Rolack, 40, was charged with trafficking cocaine and heroin, as well as possessing buprenorphine and drug paraphernalia, after a Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw a man leave the hotel and get into the car where the bag of cocaine was found.
He stopped Rolack at a fast-food restaurant because the owner of the car had a suspended license. When they searched him, they found another bag of crack cocaine in his waistband. CCSO got permission to search his hotel room and they found more cocaine, heroin, buprenorphine, hot plate, scales, glass beakers, heroin purity tests, glass pipes, sifter, sandwich bags and small zip-lock bags. They also uncovered $13,202 in his pants.
Rolack’s bond is $240,014. His next court appearance is Sept. 5.
