MIDDLEBURG – A 46-year-old man was arrested on Oct. 4 after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office determined he held a knife against another man’s neck during an argument.

Jeffrey Kenneth Vandegrift, of Middleburg, was charged with assault during a burglary and aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony after the victim said Vandegrift entered his recreational vehicle to rob him. The victim suffered cuts above his right eye and right shin and “multiple red marks on his neck and chest area.”

Deputies found the knife used in the attack in the RV. His bond was set at $25,003. Vandegrift will return to court on Nov. 6.
