JACKSONVILLE - A pick six interception by Jermaine Walker got the Ridgeview High Panthers football team on track for a solid first half against Ed White, but the Commanders took advantage of miscues to hold off and win a 39-21 game Friday night at Ed White High School.
Walker, Glenn Miller and Denali Lindo all had four interceptions for the Panther defense with Miller snaring two.
A first quarter fumble recovery led to an Ed White early score, but Walker snagged a pass and skirted 40 yards to paydirt to score the game 8-7 for White.
A bad punt snap put White on the board again, but Panther running back Rey Gonzales scored to tie the game at 14-14 just before half.
Safety Denali Lindo intercepted to end the first half.
A recovered fumble in the third led to a 35 yard scoring strike from quarterback Max Monroe to Glenn Miller as Ridgeview took a 21-14 lead as the third quarter ended.
A safety gave White two more points before White scored twice to pull ahead to a 39-21 lead.
Ridgeview had one more scoring opportunity with Monroe hitting Lindo inside the 20, but the Panthers missed on a field goal attempt.
