The Fleming Island boys golf team, district champions, third at regions led by Tyler Mawhinney, got an at-large bid to return as the second seed to the Class 3A golf championships on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11 at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills. Also competing will be the district champion, region runnerup Fleming Island girls golf team as the fourth seed, led by seniors Cambree Hodge and Kalia Polete, Orange Park's senior Brock Buhnerkemper and Middleburg's Neva Winslow for the girls 2A on Tues.-Wed., Nov. 7-8.
