GREEN COVE SPRINGS — In an effort to ease the financial burden for families heading into another school year, the Green Cove Springs Verizon Wireless retail store will give away free backpacks on Sunday, July 28, at 1 p.m.
The store is at 1342 N Orange Ave.
Verizon-authorized retailer Round Room is hosting its 12th Annual “School Rocks Backpack Giveaway” event in Northeast Florida. Hundreds of families are expected to line up to receive a free backpack. Since the event’s inception, Round Room has provided more than 1.3 million children with backpacks.
Any leftover backpacks from the backpack giveaway event will be donated to local schools of each store’s choice.
