CLAY COUNTY – Residents are invited to celebrate the new Clay County Regional Sports Complex with a ribbon cutting on April 5 at 2 p.m. The park is located on State Road 21, one mile north of State Road 16.

The 250-acre property is the first facility of its kind in Clay County, making it an incredible asset to our community and a high-demand sports destination in Northeast Florida.

Phase 1 of the Clay County Regional Sports Complex includes eight multipurpose fields, lighting, a walking trail, shade structures, ample parking and restroom facilities.

Multiple rectangular sports, including soccer, lacrosse, flag football, field hockey, spike ball and ultimate disk golf can be played on the fields.

Initially, field usage is for scheduled tournaments only, and the public is welcome to use the walking trail through the park. The county plan to allow recreational practices on the fields during the weekdays in the future for local teams. The park will be built in phases. You can learn more about future phases as they're announced through the county’s website, claycountygov.com/Newsroom and our social media pages.

You can rent the park for a tournament by reaching out to Parks and Recreation at (904) 284-6378 or by email at athletics@claycountygov.com.

The development of the sports complex is taking place in phases. The County received $3 million in legislative matching funds and an additional $2.5 million in legislative appropriations in 2023. County leaders broke ground on March 28, 2023.

This is a public/private partnership to acquire and develop Phase 1 of the property. The park is operated and maintained by Clay County.

The complex is near Belmore State Forest. It is the first of its kind in Clay County that will promote sports for both youth and adults, while also bringing tournaments to the area.
