District Schools officer dies in South Carolina SCUBA accident

CLAY COUNTY – Clay County District Schools Police Department officer Anthony “Tony” Reno died in a SCUBA diving accident in South Carolina on Aug. 12, the district announced Monday.

According to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office, Reno, 50, died while diving at The Wall at Lake Jocassee.

Reno lived on Fleming Island and was the School Resource Officer at Plantation Oaks Elementary.

The accident is being investigated by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
