ORANGE PARK—DGPerry CPAs + Advisors are in the middle of tax season, so they don't have time for anything else, including celebrating their Best of Clay award.

"This is the busiest time of the year," Beth Linder, CPA, said. 

Linder is a certified public accountant, and her office is currently entrenched and powering through its busiest season. However, she made time to offer a few complimentary recommendations for other fellow tax procrastinators. 

She recommends filing electronically. The International Revenue Service becomes inundated with papers, especially from March to April. She especially recommends filing electronically for individuals and businesses owing money to the IRS. The mail system is not as timely as paying electronically, and the last thing you'd want is further delays. If you are worried about filing on time, consider filing an extension. 

The deadline for businesses is March 15 annually. The deadline for individuals is coming up on April 15. 

Americans dread tax season every year. For Linder and her team, it is their time to shine. She finds it intrinsically rewarding to break down an admittedly complex process.

"Tax season can be a stressful environment,” she said.

Her firm consults with her clients, reviews their documents, discusses the results, and gives advice on how to save more on their tax returns next year. 

"People appreciate our services. When a spouse passes away, the other spouse might not be familiar with the process," Linder said. "We guide them through the process. Our success stories are when they feel better from our services and put their trust in us."

Some other notable success stories are when her firm helps businesses sort out IRS audits, which can happen when income is reported incorrectly or when taxes are past due.

Linder said her firm also does nonprofit work, such as for Challenge Enterprises. 

"We have good relationships with our clients. We appreciate them, and they appreciate us. It's a two-way street."

After a busy tax season and another Best of Clay under her belt, Linder plans to take her team out to dinner on April 15. The next day, she will take her team out to breakfast — an annual tradition — to hit the ground running for next year.
