MIDDLEBURG – When Culver’s Restaurant management decided to conduct a contest, they didn’t expect to win a pie in the face. But that’s what happened last Saturday at the Middleburg store with General Manager Jaydynn Garza becoming the target of her employee’s delight. Customers were asked on their receipts to fill out surveys, and the team member who got the most mentions – which was considered a good thing – would be the target of pie-throwing servers, cashiers and cooks. Garza “won” the contest, 44-35. “It’s all out of love,” she said. “I have to accept it. The thing is, I was the one who created the contest.” Store owner Sophie Lichte said the contest also helps elevate team morale.
