GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The first day of the fair had a tremendous turnout. From noon to dusk, fairgoers were in festive spirits.
Director of Tourism Kimberly Morgan says the Clay County Agricultural Fair is the No. 1 most popular event.
The fair's first day had beautiful sunny weather, which Morgan hoped would last for the next ten days while the fair was open.
Some of the fairgoers eagerly expressed what they were most excited about. One was excited to grab a bite of funnel cake. One was excited to ride the Fireball amusement ride now that she had finally gotten tall enough. One was excited to see the pigs and cows on display. One was excited to peruse the historical section at the Early Florida Village. One was excited to see Vanilla Ice perform "Ice Ice Baby."
Rylynn, 5, said she couldn't pick a favorite. "Everything" was her response, and she's completely valid – there's no wrong answers when selecting your favorite.
Stepping into the fair you can expect exhilarating rides, food vendors, shopping stalls, prize and game vendors, animal enclosures, photo booths, concerts, entertainers and much, much more.
Don't miss the "the world's greatest county fair" while it's in town.
