MIDDLEBURG - On Thurs., Nov. 28, the Middleburg High girl's basketball team kept their unbeaten season-opening streak moving with a 34-20 win over Trinity Christian Academy while, outside, the boys soccer team got two goals apiece from Brandon Anderson and Xavier Abuhl to beat Paxon 4-2. The wins moved the girl's basketball team, led by steals and dishes from Cheyenne Jenkins and Ruby Owen to 2-0, but the Bronco's good luck went south for the weekend with three losses in two days; 35-30 to Keystone Heights, 50-27 to Nease and 56-27 to St. Johns Country Day School, all at the Keystone Heights High Invitational to fall to 2-3.
The boy's soccer improved to 3-1 with the win, but Ridgeview shut out the Broncos 2-0 to drop the Broncos to 3-2.
Middleburg High's boy's basketball team won a loud and boisterous 79-52 win over Ridgeview in a Friday night doubleheader on their home court. The Broncos scored their second consecutive 70-plus points game after a 75-37 win over Baldwin a week ago but lost 70-61 on Friday to P.K. Yonge for their first loss of the season.
Outside, on the Middleburg High football field, the Broncos girl's soccer team was battling with cross-town rival Clay High but lost an 8-2 contest to fall to 2-3 under new head coach Joy Rosano. Middleburg had beaten Paxon 6-0 early in the week.
