Trinity Christian (Jax) at Oakleaf (Oakleaf 48, Trinity 40))
Unbeaten Trinity Christian (6-0) with a 31-30 win over Columbia on Sat., Sept. 29 has jumped from a 3A champion in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 to Class 5A region finalist last year. Trinity got a big win over 7A-power Columbia (5-1) on Saturday in a lightning-delayed move while Oakleaf stayed on the field in district 3-7A win over Fleming Island. Nobody has been able to figure the double whammy offensive attack of the Knights with Simmons’ arm and King’s legs. Trinity has as many great athletes as Oakleaf plus a history of big games. This is a big game though inconsequential to playoffs for either team beyond momentum and playoff points as Oakleaf looks to cruise to the district title under first-year coach Frank Garis.

1A-Crescent City (4-2, 2-1) at Keystone Heights (2-2, 1-2)
(KHHS 27, Crescent City 20)
Keystone Heights was tied 7-7with Hawthorne in week six game and will continue on Oct. 29.
Crescent City coach Clarence Williams is NFL pedigree and likes to run the ball. Keystone Heights likes to run the ball with Nick Channell’s 631 yards in four games. Could be a very fast game if both stay on the ground and keep the clock going.
Middleburg at Ridgeview (RHS 28, MHS 12)
Middleburg had a quarter and a half against district 4-6A Ed White that finished at 7-0 White and will be continued on October 15.
St. Joseph at SJCDS (SJCDS 16, St. Joseph 14)
St. (2-3, 1-1) traveled to Halifax Academy (3-3) in Volusia County and lost a 24-14 game as area teams fled the lightning storms. Spartan quarterback Max Monroe finished with six of 14 passes for just 53 yards with one touchdown. Rushing was led by Eli Morton’s 87 yards on nine carries with 61 yard touchdown the highlight of the night. Brady Walden caught three passes for just four yards while Max Arnold caught two passes for 12 yards with a nine yard score. Alex Mosborg led in tackles with 10 total for the team with Walden knocking down nine ballcarriers. Walden and Tanner Walker both had interceptions on the night with Arnold and Tyler Townsend both recovering fumbles.
