ORANGE PARK – Town organizers will take every precaution to make sure this weekend’s 38th Annual Fall Festival for the Town of Orange Park is not only enjoyable, but safe.
The festival at Town Hall Park will include artists, vendors, entertainment and activities. It will be Saturday and Sunday at 2042 Park Ave. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“It’s going to be a beautiful weekend,” said Orange Park’s Events and Recreation Coordinator Emily Dockery. “We are just about the only show in town and I think we will be busy. People have been well-behaved at our farmers’ markets and I hope to see the same pattern at the festival.”
The festival started in 1982 with 12 arts and crafts booth and two guitar players. It has expanded to more than 200 artists and vendors, two music stages and thousands of visitors.
To remain in compliance with Center of Disease Control guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, festival organizers suggest, but will not demand, wearing face coverings. Other rules will be place, like:
• Town staff and volunteers will be screened prior to starting their shift.
• Additional restrooms, hand wash stations and hand sanitizer stands will be available.
• Vendor booths will be spread out.
• We will not have bleachers for watching performances. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
• Picnic tables will be spread out and fewer will be available.
• Plastic table covers will be changed frequently.
• Kids Zone activities will be sanitized frequently.
• Food vendors must follow Florida Department of Health guidelines for food workers and food establishments.
Dockery said anyone who feels sick should stay at home. Visitors or vendors who become sick at the event should report directly to Dockery.
