Faith walk: This Day

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:8-12)

This day … God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law…

This day … the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.

This day … the Son of God became the son of man so that the sons of man could become the sons of God.

This day … Heaven gave up its Light so that the darkness of the world could be overcome by the light of the world.

This day … an infant babe miraculously came out of a virgin’s womb to forever change the course of world history.

This day … the King of Kings was born in a humble stable in the presence of donkeys, sheep and other animals.

This day … The message came forth from the halls of heaven “This is my beloved son.”

This day … He who was rich, for your sakes became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich. (2 Cor. 8:9)

This day … a baby lying in a feeding trough stretched out one hand and grasped the past; then He stretched out His other hand and grasped the future; He pulled the past and the future together over His little bed and decreed that all time would be measured by the date of His birth.
