KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – Since its opening last year, the Tea Room of Keystone Heights has offered guests a unique tea experience. Now in its second year, the Tea Room is expanding by offering more options for guests to enjoy.

“The Tea Room turns two, and I’m drinking from my saucer because my cup has overflowed,” said owner Jennifer Ford.

Guests will notice a new London phone booth Book Box at the front of the building.

“It’s a replica of a London phone booth. (It’s a) great photo prop, but we wanted to take it a step further and make it functional. So we made it into a lending library or a neighborhood book box.”

Children, adult, cook and self-taught books are available. Residents and guests can

take a book home, donate unwanted books or pose next to the replica.

The Tea Room now offers guests an evening of tea and live music through its Twilight Tea.

“Every month for the past three, this is our fourth month, we’ve been offering Twilight Tea,” Ford said. This new addition is held once a month from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and requires RSVP due to limited seating. Guests attending can enjoy a nice cup of decaf tea, desserts such as cookies and wafers, and live music provided by a local musician playing the mountain dulcimer and hammered dulcimer.

“A lot of folks are unfamiliar with both those instruments. So it’s kind of educational as well as entertaining,” she said.

“Thank you to our ‘tea-riffic’ supporters and ‘beau-tea-ful’ community for another year,” Ford said.

To celebrate their second anniversary, the Tea Room will be offering tea for two for $22.22 in September. In addition, Ford is considering offering a Dinner Tea from October to December for the upcoming holidays. It would be held once a month and would consist of soup, quiche, scones and tea.

Ford is hoping to host Tea with Santa again.

“We did have the Tea with Santa last year, and that was a big hit,” she said.
