FLEMING ISLAND – Dan Staifer recently joined Baptist Health as director of Human Resources for Baptist Clay and Baptist Health’s satellite emergency departments, which include Baptist North, Baptist Town Center and Baptist Oakleaf.

A human resources executive with more than 25 years of experience, Staifer’s areas of expertise include human resources leadership, employee relations, labor relations, recruitment, employee retention, organizational development and culture change.

Previously, Staifer served as the human resources director for UF Health Jacksonville. There he was responsible for directing human resources operations in a multi-site academic medical center with more than 4,300 employees.

Staifer will provide human resources support for the existing Baptist Clay campus, which is expanding to become a full-service 100-bed hospital opening in the fall of 2022. The new hospital will provide the full gamut of medical services, from primary care to heart care and everything in between. A 20-room Labor & Delivery Center is part of the design as well.

“As a longtime Clay County resident, I am pleased to join Baptist Health and be part of its growth. The new hospital will be a convenient, advanced medical center for the community to get their health care,” Staifer said. “Baptist Medical Center Clay will employ close to 400 additional team members. We plan to post the positions on the Baptist Health website [baptistjax.com/careers] in the spring of 2022.”

Staifer earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Toldeo. His professional affiliations include the Society of Human Resources Management and the American Society of Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
