Valentin-Torres award Women of AT&T scholarship

Alondra Valentin-Torres of Orange Park was among 15 students statewide to receive a scholarship from the Florida chapter of Women of AT&T.
Valentin-Torres is starting her sophomore year at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, where she is majoring in aerospace engineering.
Alondra, who has a 3.36 GPA, is a member of Key Club International and the Amateur Astronomy Club is on the Dean’s List.
The WOA scholarship recipients were chosen based on their GPA and extracurricular activities. The scholarships range from $1,000 to $250.
WOA is an AT&T Employee Group that supports personal and professional development for its members and community involvement. WOA-FL holds several activities throughout the year to raise money for its scholarship fund. The Florida chapter awarded $10,000 in scholarships this year. Any Florida high school senior or full-time college student sponsored by a member of WOA-FL is eligible to apply for an WOA scholarship.

SJCDS ranked No. 2 among private schools in Jacksonville area

ORANGE PARK – St. Johns Country Day School was selected last Monday No. 2 among the best private K-12 schools in the Jacksonville Area by Niche.com, one of the premier private school search and rankings sites.
"We've always known that St. Johns offers a fantastic educational experience for our families," said acting Head of School Mary Virginia Fisher, "and it's no surprise that the broader community is becoming aware as well."
With its mix of top-notch academics, 100% college acceptance rate to some of the nation's best schools, vibrant arts programs, and championship athletics, St. Johns is one of the top schools in the Jacksonville area for a reason.
"One of the best things about St. Johns," says Fisher, "is that we are able to offer all that we do while still enjoying a family atmosphere where every student can do and be whatever they set their minds to. St. Johns is truly a place where academics, the arts, and athletics all thrive in a secure social culture where no student need worry about 'fitting in.”
