Ridgeview High junior wrestlers Matthew Rodriquez, Class 2A runnerup at 120 pounds, and coach/dad Bart Rodriguez left little time for contemplation of the shocking loss in Kissimmee with a set of exercises; box jumps, curls, pushups, weight pulls and quick feet drills to ready Rodriguez for his senior season.
“I thought about the state loss for about two weeks, but now it’s time to get back to work,” said Matt Rodriguez. “I can only learn from it and move forward.”

Newsome builds for explosive senior football season
Middleburg High junior linebacker/fullback Stone Newsome created a speed and power workout in his front yard off CR 218 with weight plates, burpees, curls, table jumps, pushups, a neighborhood mailbox-to-mailbox run and a finishing bench press; four times with faster times per each repetition and 45 seconds recovery between sets.
“This was a good workout to simulate the muscle fatigue at different parts of a game with a timed element to push me to keep form and strength to the end; just like a four quarter football game,” said Newsome.
