CCSO: Man arrested for hitting pregnant woman in the mouth

 MIDDLEBURG – A man was arrested after Clay County Sheriff Office deputies said he beat up a pregnant woman and tried to hide on a roof.

Justin Carl Rounds, 30, was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance and found a woman with cuts on her mouth, dried blood on her lips and a red mark resembling three fingers on her leg.

After not finding Rounds at the scene, deputies returned eight minutes later and found the defendant laying on the roof.

Rounds had a large bump on his right cheek. He said it was the result of a strike by the victim.

 Trio caught at Walmart stuffing unpaid clothes in their purses

 MIDDLEBURG – Three Jacksonville women were arrested after they were caught trying to take $250 worth of unpaid clothes.

Yakima Shanise Napier, 19, Marteria Komisha Rae Butler, 19, and Monica Paul, all of Jacksonville, were arrested for retail petit theft.

According to the arrest report, all three were caught by Walmart security stuffing clothes in their purses.

 

Trio busted as part of undercover prostitution, human trafficking sting

 ORANGE PARK – An undercover prostitution sting resulted in the arrest of three men.

Sheriff deputies used social media June 28 to attract customers to the Hilton Garden Inn at 145 Park Ave., following complaints of prostitution and human trafficking.

Andrew Tyler Mitchell, 23, of Middleburg, Eddel Eduardo Rodengen, 34, of St. Augustine, Hai Doan, 32, of Fleming Island, all were charged with soliciting prostitution.

According to the arrest report, undercover agents received cell phone calls for “donations of time” after placing an online notice. All three defendants were arrested after they agreed to an act and each paid $200, CCSO said.

 

Man, woman caught leaving Walmart without paying

 MIDDLEBURG – Walmart security officials detained a couple after they tried to leave the story with a purse filled with unpaid items.

Louis James McMillan, 25, and Stephanie Renee Keys, 29, both of Jacksonville, and were charged with retail petit theft.

Store security said they noticed the couple walking quickly through the store and past all points of payment.

The couple also were issued no-trespassing warnings, the arrest report stated.

Second brother arrested after mower taken from lawn care company

 ORANGE PARK – Clay County deputies arrested a second brother last Wednesday, June 26, in connection with a $10,000 lawnmower reported stolen from Orange Environmental Services.

David Patrick West, 49, was charged with grand theft costing between $10,000-$19,999.

CCSO was called on June 12, a day after the company’s mower wasn’t returned by one of their work crews, according to the arrest report.

Dustin R. West, 25, was arrested on June 25. The elder brother was arrested a day later. His bond was set at $25,003.
