Orange Park man arrested for sharing child porn with online group

ORANGE PARK – A man was arrested after deputies said he exchanged child pornography with somebody in Boston, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.
Antony Eugene Woody, 31, of Orange Park, was charged with possessing, controlling or intentionally viewing a photograph or video of sexual conduct by a child. He was arrested on March 22 and remained at the county jail with bonds totaling $150,003.
Sheriff deputies were alerted on March 5 by the FBI from Jacksonville of a possible online child exploitation case. The FBI in Boston already had someone in custody for sending “abusive material” to Clay County. The investigation eventually led to Woody. Deputies said he was part of a group that shared the child abusive material.
Other pornographic material was found on his cell phone, CCSO said. Other forensics are still pending on his electronics.

MIDDLEBURG – A woman was arrested after deputies said she allowed an 11-year-old victim talk to the man already in jail after being charged with sexually assaulting her.
Danielle Marie Mayhorn, 36, of Middleburg was being held on a $500,006 bond after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrested her for child abuse and witness tampering.
Calls from the county jail were from Jason Steven Evans, 39, who has been charged with capital sexual battery on a victim younger than 12. Authorities added lewd and lascivious conduct and tampering in a capital felony proceeding. He has been in jail since Aug. 24 last year and is being held without bond.
According to the arrest report, Mayhorn and Evans lived in the same home as the victim, who has since given birth to a child.
Deputies have records showing Evans made approximately 700 phone calls to the victim and Mayhorn, her caregiver.

FDLE to investigate death inside Clay County Jail

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate how Michelle Bewley, 35, died March 5 while in custody at the county jail, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Orange Park woman originally was arrested on Jan. 4 and charged with stealing $632 worth of items from Belk at the Orange Park Mall.
Deputies found her unresponsive in her cell on March 5. It is standard procedure for the FDLE to be called in when a prisoner dies in custody.
“At this time, this case is being actively worked by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Jacksonville Medical Examiner’s Office,” the sheriff’s office said.
The cause and manner of death is still being determined by the medical examiner’s office.

Harris, of Middleburg, tried to elude police, but he was captured after a short chase.
Harris then was charged with aggravated domestic battery, assault and battery during a burglary, criminal mischief of less than $200, kidnapping and inflicting bodily harm or terrorizing a victim from an outstanding warrant, and resisting, obstructing and opposing an officer for his attempted escape.
