CCSO: Man charged with murder after stabbing father 20 times

MIDDLEBURG – A man was charged with second-degree murder after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said he stabbed his father more than 20 times in the face, neck and back.
Danny Richard Dustin, 37, apparently got into a fight with his father, Richard Dustin, on March 6. Deputies found both men under a coffee table in the living room, along with two kitchen knives, at 1972 Wren Lane.
Richard Dustin was pronounced dead at the scene, CCSO said, while Danny Dustin, who was “foaming at the mouth and covered in blood,” was taken to Orange Park Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was released from the hospital on March 8 and immediately was jailed without bond.

Speeding woman caught with assortment of drugs on U.S. 17

FLEMING ISLAND – A speeding ticket on U.S. Highway 17 turned into a five drug charges for a Gainesville woman on March 5.
Holly Leeanna King, 30, was charged with possessing 2.48 grams of cocaine, 167 Xanax pills, 1,187 Adderall pills , 58 squares of LSD, 6 vials of THC oil, seven bags of THC gummies, two vials of Xylocaine, 37 Ecstasy pills, four “high quality” rice hemp cones, 95 grams of marijuana and an assortment of drug paraphernalia after a Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy clocked her at 70 mph in a 45 mph zone on the Doctors Inlet bridge.
According to the arrest report, after she was pulled over for speeding, deputies learned she had restrictions placed on her license. When she became “very nervous and had trouble expressing complete thoughts and/or sentences,” the deputy received help from K-9 Ory, who alerted them of the narcotics.
King’s bond was set at $162,766.

Man claims to have weapon, robs Circle K clerk of car

ORANGE PARK – A Jacksonville man was caught after he robbed a convenience store clerk of her car by suggesting he had a weapon under his shirt.
Drhyromi Yentii Q’Jave Maxwell, 25, was charged with armed robbery and grand theft auto after he was pulled over in Jacksonville while driving the clerk’s car.
According to the arrest report, Maxwell pointed to an “unknown” object under his shirt and demanded the cellphone and car from the clerk at the Circle K at 1690 Wells Road.
Maxwell is being held in the Clay County jail on a $275,006 bond.

Woman jailed for showing child abuse report on Facebook

FLEMING ISLAND – A woman was in jail after she posted confidential information concerning child abuse on her Facebook page.
Yunia Esquivel, 46, of Orange Park, was charged with unauthorized disclosure of confidential information from an abuse hotline.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Esquivel “intentionally and unlawfully” posted a report from the Department of Children and Families on her social media page. She “legally” received the reports and disputed child abuse charges in a video. The name of the victim, as well as a birthdate, was shown in the video.

Local woman charged with lying to get welfare checks

GREEN COVE SPRINGS – A woman turned herself in after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant charging her with defrauding the state for public assistance.
Tammy Evoan Miller, 38, of Middleburg, was charged with engaging in public aid fraud after the state attorney’s office said she used “fraudulent means” to get welfare for the past year.

Woman violates probation for allowing child to skip school

FLEMING ISLAND – A local woman was arrested for violating her probation for not requiring her child to go to school.
Jamie Campbell, 40, also was charged with not paying her court fees and skipping probation meetings. She was required by the court to stop unexcused absences at Christian Home Academy by March 1, but failed to do it. According to the school, the student had 37 unexcused absences and being late to classes eight times.

Three-vehicle crash, fuel spill close S.R. 21 Tuesday in Keystone

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – Nobody was injured in a Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 21, but an overturned tanker forced the evacuation of A Child’s Garden day care after more than 1,500 gallons of fuel was spilled.
The highway was closed with a 1,000-foot perimeter around the accident scene near Woodland Drive for most of the day while the Florida Highway Patrol, Clay County Fire and Rescue, Environmental Protection Agency and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office worked to contain the spill and transfer the remaining 7,300 gallons.
The accident started when a van driven by Shane Demetrius Evins, 22, of Brandon, ran into the back of a sedan driven by Stephanie Ann Hall, 27, of Keystone Heights, as she slowed down to make a left-hand turn. The impact pushed Hall’s car into a tanker driven by Michael Bourne Williams, 49, of Orange Park. The tanker turned onto its side, blocking SR 21.
Nobody suffered serious injuries, including Hall’s 1-year-old passenger, Manolo Marshall Hall.

Out of town couple caught ripping off Pac Sun

ORANGE PARK – A couple from out of town were arrested after they were caught shoplifting at the Orange Park Mall.
Dierra P. Winston, 23, of Atlanta, and Stephan D. Estrada, 30, of Milwaukee, were charged with grand theft after security agents and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office recovered $378.85 worth of merchandise taken from Pac Sun on March 4. Estrada also was charged with resisting arrest after he tried to run from security. He then provided an identification card from another man. The ID card was for a man named Asaad Scott, who’s 6-foot-5. Estrada is 6-foot.
