ORANGE PARK – A family of four wasn’t home when a gutter contractor ran his pickup through their Orange Park duplex Monday afternoon.
The truck driver was distracted and hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes as he approached the cul-de-sac on Loring Village Court. The truck, which was pulling a work trailer, jumped the curb, bounced off a concrete planter and drove through the front door. It didn’t stop until the front of the truck pierced the back wall of the unit. The driver was cited for careless driving. By Tuesday, a cleanup company was trying to sort through the debris to secure what’s left of the house.
