Faith walk: Our Hope

Posted

Hope is the confident assurance of our place in eternity in the presence of our God. The Scripture says “Hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.” (Heb. 8:19) This hope is steadfast, safe and sure. And “it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it.” (NLT)

The anchor of hope will hold us steady in our confidence in our Lord and His promises in all the storms of life! An anchor is dropped from the ship to hold it in place. Our anchor of hope gives us a steadiness in every gale and storm of life.

Hope (confident assurance for the journey) holds us securely in Jesus. Our hope is divinely guaranteed by the promises of our faithful and never failing God. (Heb. 11:1) Jesus has become the assurance and guarantee of our hope by His death and resurrection.

Faith is the active ingredient of our hope. The three great “remainders” when all else falls are faith, HOPE and love. While the greatest of these is love, faith and hope are right there in the eternal values.

“For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.” (Gal. 5:5) That hope of righteousness is the completion of our salvation.

It means when it is completed for eternity! (Read these verses in the Amplified Bible for excellent clarity.)

Paul instructed the Thessalonians to put on God’s armor and especially hope (confident assurance) of salvation as a helmet.

“Indeed, continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope (confident assurance of salvation) of the gospel.” (Col. 1:23)

You have hope today. Your hope is the confident assurance that God’s promises are true and that He will keep every one of them. This assures your salvation.

Your hope works by your faith. You can be anchored in the assurance of God by your faith. That faith produces your hope that is guaranteed by Jesus Christ.
