CLAY COUNTY – Voters decided to overhaul the Town Council in Orange Park and Keystone Heights City Council Tuesday during two municipal elections.

John C. Hauber ousted Roland Mastandrea, 864-381, for Seat 3 in Orange Park while Susana Thompson beat Virginia Hall, 675-577, for Seat 4.

Orange Park voters also rejected an amendment to the town’s charter that would have disbanded the Magnolia Cometary Board of Trustees and removing it from the town’s list of chartered boards. If approved, the board’s duties would have been transferred to the town council. Voters decided to keep the board of trustees, 633-516.

In Keystone Heights, Bobby Brown won Seat 3 by defeating challenger Deirdre Murphy, 153-109, while incumbent Stephen O. Hart turned away Robin Beaton, 151-109, for Seat 5. Brown replaces Larry Peoples, who decided not to run for re-election. Brown earned Peoples’ endorsement.
