Cornelia “Connie” W. Bradley
Cornelia “Connie” W. Bradley, 96, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. She passed away peacefully at her home in Midlothian, Virginia surrounded by the love and comfort of her daughter.
Connie was born in Cheraw, South Carolina on August 1, 1920. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Hettie Williams and nine siblings, her husbands Edward A. Bardwell (20 years), Edwin L. Bradley, Sr. (30 years) and her beloved daughter Jan B. Fullerton. Jan is survived by daughter, Aimee Floyd (Troy) and son, Ryan Fullerton (Karen).
Connie was a member of the Green Cove Springs VIA Women’s Club and the Garden Club. She was a volunteer at the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry and the Historical Museum. Connie was a talented dancer who entertained at the Green Cove Springs Senior Center with her dance group.
Connie was a member of the Methodist Church and later became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs. After moving to Midlothian, Virginia, she became a member of Bethany Place Baptist Church.
Connie was a beautiful, elegant, Southern woman. She was a fashion icon, filled with manners and style. She loved to cook and bake and everyone enjoyed her casseroles and sweet treats. She was a devoted Christian with a pleasant smile and never said an unkind word about anyone. Connie also enjoyed her crafts. She was a talented portrait and ceramic painter. You are fortunate if you have any of her art work in your home.
Connie was also known as Mimi to her grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren. They loved coming to Mimi’s house to eat treats, play on the piano, play chase/tag in the yard and just visit with their Mimi. She will be missed, but her memories will forever live in their minds and hearts.
Connie is survived by daughters Gail Blankenship (Joe) and Penelope B. DeWeese (Levis); sons Edwin L. Bradley, Jr. (Dot) and Robert M. Bradley (Beth); 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; several nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation is in the Broadus-Raines Chapel, 501 Spring Street, Green Cove Springs, on Friday, February 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral is in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Saturday, February 18, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mark Hults of First Presbyterian Church will officiate the service. Internment is at Hickory Grove Cemetery with a reception to follow at First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs. Ruel Horace Baldwin, III “Joe” (Coach Joe Hitch)
Ruel Horace Baldwin, III “Joe” (Coach Joe Hitch) passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
Coach Baldwin was a physical education teacher and athletic director at Orange Park Junior High for over 30 years. His witty and caring personality inspired thousands of students throughout the years. He will be sorely missed by all his extended family. Joe had an infectious love of nature and all of God’s creation and shared his love with many. Joe is preceded in death by his father Ruel H. Baldwin Jr. and his mother Blanche Waters Baldwin. He is survived by aunts and cousins who loved him dearly. A memorial service in celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Good Samaritan Anglican Church 3813 Old Jennings Road Middleburg, FL 32068. In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to either the UF Health Jacksonville Cancer Center, or to Friends of Ft. Clinch State Park.

James Carlton Darveau Hilt “Jimmy”
James Carlton Darveau Hilt “Jimmy”, 56, of Middleburg, FL, passed away February 7, 2017. He was born on August 6, 1960 in Wickford, Rhode Island to parents James Raynor and Rita May (Miller) Hilt.
Jimmy has been a lifelong resident of the Clay County area and was a member of First Baptist Church of Middleburg. He retired from Publix as a bakery manager and had a passion for gardening. Jimmy loved life, music, God, friends and was everybody’s favorite weatherman. He loved his family and was so proud to be a dad. Jimmy was a beloved husband and father. He is preceded in death by his mother.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Geraldine Hilt; son, James Nathan Darveau Hilt; father, James Raynor Hilt; brother, Michael Hilt; sisters, Michelle Hilt, Nanette Tool (Harold) and Dottie Hilt; sister-in-law, Patti Hilt and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00am on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Middleburg, 2645 Blanding Blvd, Middleburg, FL 32068. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am with members of the pastoral staff officiating.
