Achille Carlisle Tisdelle (Ash)
On Thursday, December 10, 2020, Achille Carlisle Tisdelle (Ash), loving husband and father to three daughters passed away at the age of 73.
Ash was born on March 25,1947 in Orange Park, FL to Colonel Achille Carlisle Tisdelle and Margo Massee Tisdelle. Ash grew up in Orange Park, FL where he lived with his parents and two sisters, Lorrie and Diane, at Mira Rio, now known as The Club Continental.
He attended St. Johns Country Day School in elementary years but graduated high school from Admiral Farragut Military Academy in St. Petersburg, FL in 1965. Ash graduated from the University of Florida in 1974 with a BSBA and was a loyal Gator fan for the rest of his life.
In 1975 Ash met his wife, Celeste (Richardson) Tisdelle in Jacksonville, FL. They were married May 14, 1977 in Grace Episcopal Church in Orange Park, FL. Together they raised their three daughters, Genevieve, Sandra, and Catherine, in Fleming Island on the St. Johns River. The river was a passion of Ash’s and he loved nothing more than a sunny summer day on the water. He loved nature and was known to get his girls up at sunrise to go explore the river.
Ash had a passion for cars, even as a teen, and he loved to drive fast! At the age of 23 he began racing. He went on to race in many International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) events, such as The 24 Hours of Daytona and The 12 Hours of Sebring. In 1983 Ash opened Ash Tisdelle Inc., a high line automobile sales and service shop with a Volkswagen franchise, that he successfully operated for twenty-three years before selling in 2006. He was also an active participant and volunteer of the Amelia Island Concours D’ Elegance. Ash was a faithful and active member of the Episcopal Church.
He worked hard and lived a healthy lifestyle. He knew how to have a good time, had a great sense of humor, enjoyed music, liked to play pranks on friends (and sisters), and was a dedicated husband, father and friend. He lived an exemplary life, full of love, excitement and laughter.
Ash is survived by his wife Celeste, his three daughters Genevieve, Sandra and Catherine, his sisters Lorrie and Diane, his cousin Karrie, son-in-laws Adam and Gavin, and his three grandsons Ash, Austin and Tillman.
In light of Covid, a family graveside service will be held at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Hibernia. There will be a celebration of his life and a reception in the future at The Club Continental.
In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association and/or St. John’s Cathedral Jacksonville.

Ronald Wertz Adams
Ronald Wertz Adams, 86, passed away on December 14, 2020. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio and served proudly in the United States Navy.
He was a member of Crosspointe Church and is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Clydene Adams; children: Ronald E. Adams, Terri L. Firth and Kimberly Hinkle; grandchildren: April (Ryan) Walker, Paul (Skyeshia) Adams, Timothy Adams, Kimberly (Justin) Smith, Bethany Salter, Nina Firth, Tatiyanna Firth, Ryan Roberts and Samuel Roberts; great-grandchildren: Clara, Levi, Selah, Zoey, Bryson, Isaiah, Mala, Emerson, Arlo, Charlie, Louis and Harrison; and a extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held 1 PM, Monday, December 21, 2020 at Crosspointe Church, 1871 County Road 220, Fleming Island, FL 32003 with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. Family will receive friends from 12-1 PM at the Church. Burial will follow at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL with military honors.

Carolee Green Weidner
Carolee Green Weidner, 83, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
To thousands of Clay County school children, she was known as Mrs. Weidner the music teacher. Music was her life; from learning to play the piano at age three to playing the organ for St. Michael’s Episcopal Church just a few months before her passing.
She attended Wesley College and received her undergraduate degree in music from Lebanon Valley College, and her Master Of Arts in Teaching at Jacksonville University. She taught music at W.E. Cherry Elementary for over thirty years, having won Teacher of the Year in 1986.
Carolee was a Navy wife, and shared sixty years of marriage with her devoted partner, Jerry. She raised two children who were a constant source of pride. She was a kind soul to everyone she met, and never knew a stranger.
Carolee is survived by her devoted husband of sixty years, Jerry, her daughter, Cheryl, (Mike Rich) her son Mike, her sister Mary Sue Willis, and her brother Bob Green and was also greatly loved by several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. They all take comfort knowing their favorite music teacher now sings with a chorus of angels in heaven.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.

Lois Doherty Webber
Lois Doherty Webber, 79, of Jacksonville, FL entered the gates of Heaven to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2020 after a courageous journey living with dementia.
Determined to maintain her independence to the end, Lois had many adventures such as late-night rides to the bowling alley, calling the police for various incidents, and walking to Walmart because she could. In the Brookdale Dementia Bridge Community, she would play ‘Possum’ to annoy the staff and run the Nurses’ station as the leader she was in life. She was known as the ‘Tiny Dancer’ from Friday Happy hours swinging with all.
She was born in Nashua, NH to the late Francis Elwyn Doherty and Irene Bibeau Honeycutt with stepfather Kenneth Honeycutt Sr.
She was a graduate of St. Genevieve-of-the-Pines Academy Catholic High School, De Paul Hospital School of Nursing, and Old Dominion University. Lois served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant, a career Registered Nurse as Infectious Control Manager, Charge and Emergency Room Nurse for Norfolk General, Halifax, and Sentara Hospitals.
Lois was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Green Cove Springs and a volunteer for Humane Society of Daytona Beach, and bingo card caller for various Catholic Churches. She was an avid bowler, bingo player, consignment store addict, cruise enthusiast, gambled on and off the water, and a proud fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars. She loved crime tv, puzzles, sewing, and crocheting blankets.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by sister, Shirley Doherty McElrath and is survived by brother, Kenneth Honeycutt Jr. (Georgianne) of Ashville, NC.; children, Denise Smallwood (Dennis) and Laurie Webber both of Fleming Island, FL., Teresa Eckhout (Joe) of Richmond, VA, Thomas G. Webber Jr. (Robin) and former spouse Thomas G Webber Sr. both of Virginia Beach, VA; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, furry children Lizzy and Tiffany. A special thank you to all the caregivers, you were our heroes.

Linda Anderson Griffin
Linda Anderson Griffin, 68, St. Augustine, FL passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020. Mrs. Griffin was born in Jesup, Georgia to the late Harold and Retha Rowell Anderson. She moved to the area from Georgia over 50 years ago. Linda worked side-by-side with her husband, Michael, as the owners of Sea Breeze Food Service. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and confidant. She lived for her three granddaughters who called her “Grammy”. Her world revolved around their activities and sporting events as she always attended and cheered them on. Linda had a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew her.
Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Danny Anderson. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Michael Griffin; one son, Kevin Griffin (Kyla); one daughter, Tammy Baker (Tommy); one brother, Randy Anderson (Julie); two sisters, Teresa Fleming (Paul) and Brenda Hammonds; three granddaughters, Katlyn Griffin, Morgan and Regan Baker; many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11:00am at Russell Baptist Church with Patrick Martin officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.

Jesse “Jay” Dare Greenwood
Jesse “Jay” Dare Greenwood passed away December 13, 2020. He was born January 23, 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida and attended local schools before serving four years in the Air Force.
Jay attended the University of Florida earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following graduation, he was employed as an Aerospace Engineer at NAS Jax and retired in 1992.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Camilla Greenwood. He leaves behind to mourn his memory his devoted wife of 66 years, Betsy; a daughter Lee Ann Adkins (Jack); two sons, Jay Greenwood (Cheryl) and Alan Greenwood.

Muir Jennings Edney, Jr.
Muir Jennings Edney, Jr. or “Tim” Edney, 81, of Orange Park, Florida passed away on December 2nd , 2020.
Although Tim went home to be with the Lord, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Tim was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 30th , 1939, to the late Muir and Katherine Edney.
Soon afterward, the family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida for six years before moving to Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Cloverdale School and it was during this time Tim became a star left-handed pitcher in Little League baseball. He later attended Sidney Lanier High School where he was a popular and superb athlete. Tim was a star in baseball, basketball, track and played football as well.
As he needed to focus, he decided that basketball and track would be his main sports. Tim even turned down offers from the Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates to pitch! This led him to winning the state decathlon championship in 1958, the year he graduated from high school. Attending Florida State University to run track, Tim also won a full scholarship to play basketball there. At FSU, he excelled in both sports and majored in business, which suited his future career in finance.
After graduation from Florida State, Tim attended a banking school at the University of Alabama. He began a career in banking in Mobile, Alabama and was in the Army Reserves.
After becoming a vice president at Barnett Bank in Jacksonville, Florida, Tim decided to pursue a career in insurance. He started his insurance career with Massachusetts Mutual and did very well. He later worked for Principal Financial Group and Pacific Life.
His passion for sports continued some time after college when he picked up tennis as an adult. Being gifted as he was in athletics, he went on to become one of the better players in his age group in the state of Florida. Tim was an avid participant of the United States Tennis Association for over 40 years and loved to help others learn the game.
Most importantly, Tim will always be remembered for his love of Christ and others around him. He was a long-time member and usher of Jacksonville Word of Faith Church, as well as serving on their Advisory Committee.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dottie Branch, and loving wife of 43 years, Alice “Lissa” (Lowe) Edney. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Torres; children, Kathy Brennan, Chip Edney, and Jennings Edney; sister, Peggy Grigg; grandchildren, Anthony Edney, Nicole Edney, Tommy Brennan, Samuel Brennan, Joshua Edney, Jordan Edney and Mallory Edney.
There will be a private family gathering and celebration of Tim’s life in January, 2021.
