GREEN COVE SPRINGS – There won’t be a municipal Super Tuesday election in Clay County this year.

According to Supervisor of Elections Chris Chambless, the cutoff for the primary was Friday. None of the qualified candidates have opponents.

The qualified candidates are: Green Cove Springs City Council, Seat 1, Edward Gaw; Green Cove Springs City Council, Seat 2, Matt Johnson; Keystone Heights Mayor, Karen Lake; Orange Park Town Council, Seat 1, Eddie B. Henley; and, Orange Park Town Council, Seat 2, Alan Watt.

The presidential primary is March 17, while primaries for county, district and state positions is Aug. 18.

The general election is Nov. 3.
