MIDDLEBURG - Middleburg High girls basketball forward Britany Range signed a scholarship to continue her playing at Seton Hall University in New Jersey in a ceremony on Fri., Nov. 15.

Range, who was instrumental in the Lady Broncos 21-7 record and region semifinal playoff finish (Lost to Nease), averaged 18.6 points per game with six rebounds per game. Range, at 5'-9", also had a four assists per game average. Range also hit 44 three-pointers for coach Michael Hayward and shot 74 percent from the free throw line.

On the defensive side, Range snagged 159 rebounds; 90 off the defensive glass, 69 off the offensive glass, handled 3.5 steals per game; 91 total, and at least one blocked shot; 34 total.

In her prior three seasons, Range has steadily averages points per game of 12.3, 16.7 and 18.6.

Range was also a standout volleyball player for coach Carrie Prewitt.

Seton Hall, currently 4-1 in 2019, finished at 15-16 last year and plays in the Big East Conference with the likes of conference champions DePaul University and such basketball powers as Connecticut, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Xavier and Villanova.

In 2015, Seton Hall made the NCAA championship tournament with a first round exit after losing to DePaul in the conference championship game. Seton Hall lost in the conference semifinals to Creighton in 2016, but advanced to the NCAA tournament; losing in round one.

In 1994 and 1995, Seton Hall lost in the conference finals to powerhouse Connecticut.

In 1984, Seton Hall lost to St. Johns in the conference final.
