ORANGE PARK – Brenda Glover spent nearly 10 years looking for her lost her wedding ring in the filing room at Orange Park Medical Center, only to find it shortly before she begrudgingly agreed to replace it.
Construction workers who were preparing the imagine room as part of the hospital’s upcoming expansion found the ring and returned it to her.
“I never gave up. I knew it was in there and I thought to myself that at some point the hospital would be doing some type of changes and the room would be cleared out,” she said. “I never stopped looking. The day the construction team arrived I said, ‘I have to go talk to them and ask them to look.’”
Glover lost the ring two months after her wedding. She was two weeks away from her self-imposed 10-year deadline to find it.
“This ring was so special to me. I never replaced it because I wanted that ring that he gave me,” she said. “We were getting ready to start shopping for a new ring. I couldn’t believe it when I got the call that they found it. I was so excited to put it on because I haven’t worn a wedding ring in 10 years.”
