Letter to the Editor: Reader supports Peter Swanson’s food truck article

Posted

I just wanted to respond to the verbal attack on Peter Swanson concerning the food truck in Green Cove Springs article which was written by him.

Wow, guess there is no doubt how this citizen feels about Peter. Just not sure what any of that has to do with Peter’s article.

Anyone who lives in Green Cove Springs for any amount of time realizes what a monopoly there is in this little community by the people running this city. As a citizen who was definitely affected by Hurricane Irma, I was very happy to see that food truck in town on that day. No electricity in my house.

Friends had shown up that day to help with the extensive clean-up in my yard (5 huge trees downed). I was playing gopher it seemed that day. I made many trips to Ace Hardware that day and I can tell you that the restaurants that day were overrun with business.

I just wanted to feed my hardworking crew a good lunch that day, as they did not want to stop and go out for lunch. Once again, it seems like a politician has made an attack on someone and twisted the story to take the focus off the actual story to make themselves look better.

Once again, all I have to say is “Shame on you Green Cove Springs City Manager.”
