ST AUGUSTINE - Keystone Heights High football rumbled to a fourth consecutive 250-plus rush yard game to pound out a 21-0 win over 2A-St. Joseph Academy on Friday in St. Augustine. The win preserves the Indians' unbeaten season start, now a 4-0.
"We limited St. Joseph for maybe eight possessions for the night," said Keystone Heights coach Chuck Dickinson. "We had a couple three downs and out, but most of our drives are long drives. They may have had 24 minutes of offense in the first half. We think if we hold our opponent to less than 10 possession per game is good for us because it keeps our defense fresh."

Class 1A-4A Playoff scenario: Top six ranked teams in each region receive a playoff bid and will be seeded #1-6.
Dickinson knows that the upcoming showdown game with 1A-Crescent City (2-2) on Friday will test the Indians resiliency. Crescent City has wins of 50-0 (over IND-Akeylynn's Angels Christian Academy, 0-5) and 41-8 (over Wildwood) with a 41-0 loss to 1A powerhouse Madison County (5-1, loss to 5A-Lakewood in OT) and a 26-20 loss to Episcopal (5-1, coached by former Jaguars QB Mark Brunell).
"They got 15-20 seniors on that team that have played since sophomores," said Dickinson. "They lost a last second game to Episcopal last week on a late whistle on a kickoff. It will be a good test for us."
The Indians grinded to a 14-0 halftime lead behind a surprise 30 yard pass from Tibbitts on a halfback pass play to Jarrett Hughes in the second quarter and a one yard Sanders plunge.
"We call that play our toss pass and we practice it in practice," said Dickinson. "We had just had a 10 yard toss sweep the play prior and it was a good situation to try to the toss pass. They executed it for the score."
In the second half, Townsend crunched in from one yard to finish the scoring.
Tibbitts also snagged his second interception of the season at the goal line with 11:42 to go in the game to set up Townsend's fourth quarter score. Tibbetts returned the pick 31 yards to put Keystone Heights' offense on the field.
For the season the leather-lugging trio of Townsend, Friedlin and Sanders has accumulated 334, 318 and 259 yards, respectively, in four games, with Sanders getting four scores and Townsend and Friedlin both scoring three times. Hughes' touchdown pass catch is the only scoring pass for the Indian offense.
On defense, Andrew Cox is leading tackler with 45 stops; 34 solo, with Layton Murphy at 27 and Sanders and Dalton Hollingsworth both at 26. Tibbetts has two interceptions with Hollingsworth with one. Hollingsworth also has two fumble recoveries.Townsend and John Davis Schenck both have fumble recoveries as well.
