Indians lift to seventh place at FIHS

FLEMING ISLAND - Lifting against some Class 2A stalwarts including Bartram Trail, Columbia and St. Augustine and even host Fleming Island High School, the Keystone Heights boys weightlifting team five lifters with top six finishes en route to a seventh place team finish.

Columbia Lake City won with 44 points with Baker County in second at 38 and Bartram Trail third at 31. Keystone Heights scored 18 points right behind Fleming Island's 22.

In a strong showing at 139, Spivey totaled 440 pounds off a 225 bench press and a 215 clean and jerk to finish third behind a tie at 445 DJ Pimiento of Fleming Island and Anthony Cline of St. Augustine.

At 169, Zack Blalock finished second with 565 pounds behind Bartram Trail's Andrew Newman who totaled 610.

Alex Cruz totaled 440 in the same weight class.

The region meet is set for March 22 at Belleview High School with lifting starting at 3:30 p.m.

At 199, Justin Raysin finished fifth at 545 with the winner at 690.

At 219, Nolan Robertson totaled 575 pounds for third place with a 300 bench and a 275 clean and jerk.

At 238, Carter Semione totaled 505 with the winning total at 620.

At the heavyweights, Matt White took fourth at 630 while Dan Dodd totaled 565. Winning total was 725.
