Realty company pitches in for free dental clinic
FLEMING ISLAND – The nonprofit arm of Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty recently raised $2,000 to help provide dental services to the needy in Clay County. CBV Cares made the donation to Clay County Dental Care Inc., which operates the free dental clinic in Green Cove Springs in a building that is part of the Clay County Health Department on Idlewild Avenue. Interact & Rotary clubs fight hunger
ORANGE PARK – Volunteers from Rotary Club Orange Park Sunrise and Ridgeview High School Interact recently packed 15,124 dehydrated high-protein meals in a little over two hours for Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief organization. The meals, which were packed Jan. 20., provide emergency relief in the wake of natural disasters while also encouraging transformation in communities through school meals, vocational training and health programs around the world. The meals packaged last month were designated to go to Haiti. Ridgeview students recruited volunteers from Oakleaf, Clay and Fleming Island high schools, St. Johns River State College Rotaract and Lakeside Junior High. Rotary Club Orange Park Sunrise funded the costs of bringing the meal-packing event to Clay County.
