Have you ever asked God for something and then realized you did not want your prayer answered?
You may have prayed, “Lord, grant this at any cost” or “Lord, do whatever it takes.” Then you realized the enormous consequences a prayer like that could bring if it were answered.
It is a good thing God does not always take us take us at our word. He tempers the things we say with His mercy and understanding. And He always gives us grace.
He will also let us change our minds. I thank Him for that!
He knows us so well that He can give us what we need before we ask – and often even if we do not ask! He knows us better than we know ourselves and we should thank Him every day that He does.
Sometime in your past you may have told God you wanted Him to end it all for you. You prayed for him to take you from this world. He did not do it. Now you are glad He did not grant your request.
Jesus said, “Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” (Matt. 6:8)
How wonderful it is to have such a Heavenly Father. He knows us. He loves. He wants to bless us with full, joyful lives. And if we will walk with Him as His obedient children, He will withhold no good thing from us.
“The LORD bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.”
– Psalm 84:11
He knows us, but He loves us anyway. Walk with Him today. Talk with Him. Listen to Him. He knows you and He loves you. Do not doubt it. You will have a wonderful day every day that you put your life in His hands. And, you will have a wonderful life if you put it in His hands.
