Olivia Doherty collected more than $650 worth of supplies for the Safe Animal Shelter during the recent Fourth of July boat parade.
The 6-yer-old set up her stand on the dock and invited revelers to fill her canoe with supplies like: old towels, bleach, paper towels, laundry detergent and wet and dry foods for dogs and cats.
In the process, she was selected by Island Dentistry to be a representative in its Random Act of Kindness promotion.
