FLEMING ISLAND – To help keep the community healthy and safe, The Fresh Market has installed some new protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
All of its stores will require team members and shoppers to wear a face covering while they’re in the store. The new rule is in accordance with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest recommendations.
The CDC has instructions for making your won cloth face covering. It can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html.
The Fresh Market also asks shoppers to wash or sanitize your hands before putting on the face covering. When removing it, always grab it by the straps, not the cloth that covers the mouth.
The store also has created additional safety measures, like:
• Contactless credit card checkout.
• Plexiglass shields at registers.
• Increased cleaning and disinfecting of touchpoints throughout the store.
• Requiring physical distancing of at least two shopping carts, with guidelines marked on floors.
• Senior shopping hours from 8 a.m.-9 a.m. on weekdays.
• Limiting the number of guests in the store, based on local ordinances.
The Fresh Market also suggests shopping between 5 p.m.-9 p.m. when there aren’t as many customers.
