GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Mosey to the Clay County Fairgrounds Dec. 28-30 to watch raw horse-power, hard-ridin’, straight-shootin’ mounted shooting at the Florida Peacemakers Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association New Year’s Shootout.

You don’t need to be a horse enthusiast to get caught up in the lure and attraction of the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting. The Florida Peacemakers encourage guests and spectators to come see what we’re all about.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., more than 200 competitors, including world champions, from all over the country will be competing in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Saturday’s events will feature rifle, shotgun and Cavalry competitions. Sunday and Monday will be the main matches with revolvers. On Sunday at 7 p.m. there will be an exciting Showcase.

Parking and admission at the Clay County Fairgrounds are free for this family-friendly old-west exhibition. The fairgrounds is located at 2497 State Road 16.

Cowboy Mounted Shooting is a fast-action equestrian sport that combines elements of a Wild West show and exhibition shooting with the skills of barrel racing, pole bending and reining.
