MIDDLEBURG – First Baptist Church of Middleburg will hold its annual “Feeding the 5000” event on Sat. Nov. 21. The event officially begins at noon, and will be held on the church campus at 2645 Blanding Blvd.
“This event is one of the largest Thanksgiving food giveaways in northeast Florida and is designed to be a blessing to the residents of Clay County,” according to Senior Pastor, Dr. Chris Bonts. “Providing Thanksgiving meals for those in need is a tangible expression of our church’s love for our community, especially in the midst of a pandemic which has caused widespread physical, financial and spiritual struggle for so many families.”
First Baptist Middleburg will give away a complete Thanksgiving meal to the first 1,000 families that arrive on campus at noon. The meal contains a 10-12-pound turkey, green beans, turkey stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and a pumpkin pie.
